"New" Empire State Express 1941 Brochure
On December 7th, 1941, the New York Central relaunched its flagship daylight train with two streamline trainsets with stainless steel coaches built by the Budd Company and two J3a 4-6-4 Hudson-class steam locomotives built by the American Locomotive Company (ALCO).
