Need to replace Livingston Ave Bridge (LAB) gets call out from the Albany Times Union

The Albany Times Union ran a business article and opinion editorial on the need to replace the Livingston Ave Bridge (LAB) that carries Amtrak trains over the Hudson River between Rensselaer and Albany. The newspaper stated that: "Albany’s Livingston Avenue Bridge was built in 1902 on the supports of an older span. The rail bridge has been on the update list for many a year. Trains between New York City and practically every place above the Hudson Valley — the Capital Region, the Adirondacks, Montreal, Syracuse, Rochester, Buffalo — cross this one bridge. And because the bridge is in such bad shape, they slow to a crawl to do it... Gov. Andrew Cuomo is pushing for rail improvements all across the state, but this 119-year-old bridge somehow isn’t on the list, much less near the top, which is where it ought to be."
