The Albany Times Union is reporting that: "Amtrak's move this month to cut train frequencies, and costs, in the wake of the pandemic has left accommodations on some long-distance trains sold out. The president of the Empire State Passengers Association, Gary Prophet, said that sleeping care accommodations on the 'Lake Shore Limited' have been sold out, although coach seats were still available. Another previously daily train, the westbound 'Capital Limited' between Washington and Chicago, had no seats or sleeping accommodations available on the next three days it operates. Prophet said he also found the 'Lake Shore Limited' sold out on a number of other days, and questioned why the railroad cars idled by the service reductions weren't attached to the trains that operated, increasing their capacity."
